Evaluation Question 7

7. Looking back at your preliminary task (the continuity editing
task), what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to
full product?
In this question I will be looking at how we have look at as a group and individually our group has progressed and now have a better and stronger understanding of how media works and see that our group has made progression. This has been shown from the preliminary task from the types of shots used, the storyline, the titles, the colour of the film as well as a better use and understanding of editing as well. I will also show how we have intential crossover that are used between products in the preliminary task and the main task, by this I mean a type of shot or representation that was shown in the preliminary task could still be being used but just now in a different way.

Evaluation Question 6

6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
For this question I have tried to show how we used different methods of technology and why we used them, what I learnt from using them and how they helped create our final task.

Evaluation Question 4

4. Who would be the audience for your media product?
The target audiene that we have decided to use for our film is between 15-55 for males and females. The reason that we chose this age group because we think that such as our older audience is because its type of film (thriller) may not be thought as suitable for a younger audience to watch, also because it maybe thought that there are explicit scenes that shouldn't be watched by a younger audience.

This is Phil 45 and he is a postman, who lives in Oxford. Phil enjoys going to the pub, playing snooker and enjoys spending time with his friends and family. In the near future he is looking to retire within the next five years. He likes to wear clothes from cotton traders, Gap and Timberland. In his spare time he enjoys playing computer games and watches TV as well as listening to music in his spare time as well.

Evaluation Question 3

3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
For this question I have thought about what type of media institution would best suit the distribution of anonymous, from this I have discovered that they should take the film to film festivals in order to raise the awareness for the film as well as by using this method there is a better chance that large media institutions such as Lionsgate and Paramount will see the film and will want to distribute and make the film greater and more popular on an international scale. Another method that could have been considered for the film would have been to use simultaneous distribution such as with A Field in England which is similar to our film in the way it was made as Rook films are a small independent/micrbudget film company, however I feel that the film will be best suited to a theatrical distribution once it has been at film festivals. As shown on a different post their is also a cover photo that has been made for anonymous which could be used for advertisement on bilboards, posters and social media as well.

Evaluation Question 2

2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?
For this question I will be looking at how 'anonymous' shows and looks at different social groups and see what part they played in the final task that we completed. The unique thing about our final task is that it was accesable for people of all ages to take part in and that people weren't restricted dependent on their age, appearance and clothes that they wore.

Evaluation Question 1

1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Here is our groups response to question 1. In this question we are trying to challenege typical conventions that you might see in a thriller film by using a combination of scenes in black and white as well as in colour, but also because we have an object (the red bag) as our main character and there isn't a set character where you can see what type of role that they have compared to in our film you don't have the ability to reference to one specific character to help you out whilst the film is going on. Unlike in most thriller films were it is obvious to see what each characters role is and how they fit into the film.

Anonymous Poster/Cover Photo

For our coursework our group decided that it would be beneficial to create a Cover Poster. The reason that we made this was because we thought that it could be used a promotional method to help raise awareness of our film. We have tried to continue a similar theme to that of our coursework by having everything in black and white apart from the bag which has been made to standout more with it still being in colour. By doing this it should hopefully get more people to come and watch our film as well.

Anonymous Coursework Finished

Here is our finished media coursework for the short film opening to the film that we have made. None of the groups name appear in the titles and all the names that you see are members of staff at the school, the reason behind this is so that it shows that everyone has contributed to the group and that others haven't done more than each other. We have also taken on board the feedback that was given to our group and looked at the colour grading, along with making the whole opening in black and white apart from the start in the butchers which has stayed in colour.

Rough Cut Audience Feedback

Here is some of the feedback that we have recieved from showing people our rouogh cut of our coursework. The majority of people enjoyed the clip and understood what was going i.e. the thought of their being a dead body in the bag. However the main suggestion to us if to change something in clip would be that when the bus goes pass in London and it slows down it is clear to the audience that editing has occured and that it doesn't fit in with the rest of the clip.

Secondary audience research

For secondary research we have looked at films that we think are of a similar genre and feel to the opening of the film that we are making ourselves. In order to find out some of the information as regards to who our target market would be we used the website for Pearl and Dean to look at what they thought the most popular age categories to see our film we're going to be.

From looking at this film we discovered that the type of film that we are creating is one that targets an older audience due to the content of the film as well as also being a predominantly being a film watched by males. This is due to the genre of our film being a thriller style theme which can be thought of as less attractive for females to go and watch as well as suiting the style of a mystery film of which will appeal more to a male audience. However the film is still suited for females to go and watch if they are a fan or enjoy watching that genre of film.
